xm and sirius plan to merge

Two struggling satellite radio companies based in the United States will try to combine to produce one successful satellite radio company:

* Satellite radio's XM, Sirius to merge

Gotta say...I am surprised that this is actually going to happen. Looks like Sirius is going to keep most of the control with Mel in charge. I wonder when it will actually happen? A year? Two? Could end up being a Directv/Dish thing.
