Cobalt, I'm interested in getting into the hobby of DXing. Your blog really inspired me to start. If you don't mind, could I talk to you about the hobby?
Also the V-com store has a new radio KK S500 for about $20 more than the more respected 1103 which surprises me. I know there is also a KK S7600L model which is not at the store. Haven't seen any reviews on these radios.
According to the V-Com store, the KK-S500 has SYNC DETECT. Maybe this is why it costs more than the 1103. Then again, it could be a dud for all I know (I had never heard of this radio until you mentioned it).
This is a good rundown on the KK S7600l. I think it's a superior radio to the KK S500 but I'm not sure of that and I don't know why it isn't being offered? As to the quality of the "KK" line I have heard things that I didn't like. Maybe they have improved quality control I don't know. But at this price I'd have to see a good review before I decided to purchase.
